Playaz Recordings are proud to bring to you this heavyweight release from new comer Placid, who is set to become a household name with the mighty double A side Particles/Invasion. Ever ones for championing real Drum and Bass that covers the entire spectrum of the genre, Hype and Pascal are renowned for discovering new talents within the scene such as Netsky and giving them the exposure that they need to break through. Not content with finding new artists, Real Playaz has changed the pace with this dance floor smasher once again showing that if there is anything to be taught about Playaz Recordings, that it is to expect the unexpected.

First up with have the delightfully vibrant Particles which begins with a soft fluttering of samples before launching full throttle into a bona fide dance floor anthem. No heavy synths and frenzied drum patterns here, Particles is a smooth ascent to that towering peak where mellifluous synths soar above the skyline. If you like dynamic Drum and Bass that is set to keep you moving until the early hours, then Particles is for you!
On the flip is the darker offering Invasion, a much heavier offering with elements of grungy tech which create a scientific feeling to the track. Controlled drum patterns provide the tempo and manic synths propel the listener into a real life Drum and Bass invasion. The atmospheric build up is peppered with samples from vintage films to add a more emotive listening experience and also provide depth to the track. The dark ambience of Invasion is sure to even turn the hardest of jump up Drum and Bass heads!

Particles/Invasion by Placid is another example of Real Playaz changing their sound and destroying all preconceptions the scene had about the label. Not just masters of jump up, Real Playaz are true pioneers of Drum and Bass and after nearly twenty years in the industry, why offer anything else?
